NURU Academy Level II

The aim of this level is to prepare employees to be leaders who will be able to work in teams with a common purpose. Working in teams includes a huge diversity among members, emotional intelligence, reliability and great ability to handle team projects. This leadership level will be covered with three sections with multiple modules.

PART 1: SKILLS

Module 1: Collaborative Skills

In the African context, we naturally cherish community life. We have a strong sense of interactions and sharing because we believe we can achieve when united hence the saying “ukitaka kwenda haraka nenda peke yako, ukitaka kwenda mbali nenda na wenzako” meaning “if you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far, go with others”. Hence, In any task or function, if taken within a team there is a much more synergetic result compared to if the task was taken by an individual.

Module 2: People Management Skills

Among the most important resources in any business setting are the human resources (people). They are the ones who enable all business functions to take place accordingly. To manage people properly requires one to have humility, patience, respect and sensitivity. Furthermore, to realize these results requires one to have the best relationship with people in business but also handle them correctly so as to ensure satisfaction and mutual benefit. The people in business include colleagues, subordinates, seniors and stakeholders. At DMG our best asset are people. Our task is to ensure we onboard the right people with the right attitude, we unwrap their full potential and keep them highly motivated all the time. This module will cut across all mentioned above and more.

Module 3: Altruism

Among the best ways of one to see progression in any group setting personally and as a group one needs to have altruism. Having the sense of taking initiative even if it is not in your job description, not officiated in writing or waiting for directives. Meaning it entails one having the readiness to help with no expectations at all and being concerned with others well-being. This module will impart you with knowledge on why you need to volunteer, dedicate yourself even if it is not your prime responsibility or with no directives plus the benefit in the long run.
